Last week, Limestone Capital welcomed guests back to Aethos Ericeira for the third edition of the On The Edge Summit. A selected group of entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders gathered around this year's theme: "Elevating Private Investments." The format is deliberately intimate — sharp conversations on the future of human private investment paired with experiences that are anything but ordinary: surfing giant Atlantic waves with a world-renowned big wave surfer, vineyard visits, cliff-top walks, and the kind of setting where ideas and connections tend to stick.
The Conversations
After a first welcome evening on the Ocean View Terrace, the summit's sessions explored where the next generation of private investment opportunity is forming. The discussion moved from AI's accelerating impact on business and society, to the shifting economics of high-end second-home ownership with Nikolaus Thomale and Fabian Löhmer, co-founders of MYNE, and Maxime Friess, co-founder and CEO of Eterniti, through to the fast-growing longevity and health-span space with Christian Blomberg, founder and CEO of Ydun. Running through it all was the rise of lifestyle-led hospitality — the world Limestone's own Aethos, founded by hosts Benjamin Habbel and Jeff Coe, was built for. A closing Investment Workshop on the final morning gave guests access to 10+ live deals across equity, credit and venture.
Unique “On the Edge” Experiences
The undoubted highlight was a surf session on the world’s largest waves in Nazaré led by Joana Andrade — the first woman to surf Portugal's giant waves at Nazaré and a pioneer of big wave surfing globally, who also happens to call Ericeira home. The programme also included coastal hikes, sunrise yoga and more. A visit to Adega Mãe for a cellar tasting rounded out a programme that felt as much like a trip as a summit.
